Each session will end with a brief observance of divine feminine Shabbat. Read more about shabbat in the Mary Magdalene (gnostic) lineage below.

The traditional gnostic Shabbat is a weekly ritual celebrating the union of divine feminine and masculine energies in every person. For this reason, Shabbat is known as the “wedding feast.” When our two energies are in unity and balance (think yin and yang), we can achieve shalom, which means peace, or the highest spiritual fulfillment. In a bigger sense, gnostic Shabbat is a remembrance that God, Alaha, is both masculine and feminine, Mother and Father. According to the mystery teachings and the surviving Nag Hammadi texts, the ability to balance male and female energies in the heart and womb is the essence of alchemy. True alchemy is thus an embodied and sexual practice. Yeshua (called Jesus by some) and his counterpart Mary Magdalene, preached the alchemical mysteries. Later religious “Christian” teachings removed these mysteries to suppress knowledge of the divine feminine energy of Mother God because of its extremely potent and liberating potential, which endangers the grip of patriarchy and patriarchal religion.

Shabbat is a ritual elevation of the suppressed divine feminine, called Shekinah, in all people. Mary Magdalene was an embodiment of Shekinah. Her teachings tell us how to bring the frequency of Shekinah into our bodies, through our incarnations, to help birth a new world through the alchemy of the heart and the womb. This new world of peace (shalom) is the Malkhutah, or Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, which is commonly invoked in ritual using the phrase “as above, so below.” The awakening and resurgence of Shekinah is the “second coming” foretold in prophecy. On Shabbat we remember these alchemical teachings and the alchemical power that each of us holds within our bodies.

Shabbat in the gnostic tradition begins Friday at sunset. Friday is the holiest day of the week because it is connected to Venus, a powerful divine feminine energy. Venus is associated with the Scandinavian Goddess Freya (hence Freya-day). Shabbat ends the following sunset on Saturday. During this Shabbat portal, we receive the creation frequencies and the frequencies of rest and abundance and comfort, which make up the feminine/yin essence.

Shabbat is for everyone and every body!
